At first i didnt knowhow to use photoshop that well to create a shirt for my avatar let aloe for anything, now after the first term of Secondlifew i can use photoshop pretty well for alot of things now as well as other subjects. My experience so far with secondlife was good and i had fun in the lessons, though it was hard at first it got easier to use through out the term.

Watch the following clip on Maximillian Kolbe:

Upload the answers to the following questions in your blog.

1.) Define the term ‘moral integrity’

2.) Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity.

3.) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principles that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.

4.) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e. Catholic teachings.
When used as a virtue term, ‘integrity’ refers to a quality of a person’s character; however, there are other uses of the term. One may speak of the integrity of a wilderness region or an ecosystem, a computerized database, a defense system, a work of art, and so on. When it is applied to objects, integrity refers to the wholeness, intactness or purity of a thing—meanings that are sometimes carried over when it is applied to people. A wilderness region has integrity when it has not been corrupted by development or by the side-effects of development, when it remains intact as wilderness. A database maintains its integrity as long as it remains uncorrupted by error; a defense system as long as it is not breached. A musical work might be said to have integrity when its musical structure has a certain completeness that is not intruded upon by uncoordinated, unrelated musical ideas; that is, when it possesses a kind of musical wholeness, intactness and purity.

Refrence: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/integrity/

Maximillian kolbe is regarded a Christian of exemplary moral integrity because he gave his life up for a stranger who was going to be tortured by the Nazi’s. He also hid 2,000 Jewish willingly from the nazis until he got caught and went to the jail in Pawiak.

Maximillian showed us ethical actions by giving his life for a stranger and giving hope to not only that man and his family, but to all the Jewish out there. He also died in high repect when he led the other 10 prisoner in paryers during the tim in which they were going to be starved to death.

Like his master Jesus Christ he had loved his fellow-men to the point of sacrificing his life for them. ‘Greater love hath no man than this … and these were the opening words of the papal decree introducing the process of beatification.

With reference to the image below and answer the following questions:

Digital Media
1.) Define the term ‘digital media’.
2.) How has digital media evolved over the last 5-10 years?
3.) Discuss the reasons why digital newspapers are extremely popular?

Digital Media is opposed to analog media, it usually refers to electronic media which works on codes. Though today, computing is usually based on binary number system.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_media

Digital media today is totally different to media 5-10 years ago. Back then forms of getting messages across to each other was not as quick as msn or picture messaging, back then they used letters and and huge cameras to print of photos then send them buy mail or email. Now we have HD, flatscreen, LCD  televisions back the there was Huge bulky Televisions. Radio was one of the main ways of news also with T.V. now we have news on mobile phones, TVs, radio, the internet, and many more tools. The internet was there but not as good as it is now, now we can do anything, find anything on the internet. The media now is more interest then it was 5-10 years ago and has changed a lot.

Newspaper are extremely popular because the are not expensive, have lots of information on alot of topics like sport, business, domain and more. They are a good size and found everywhere, it is more convinient for everyone and better then going on the internet all the time.

1.) Watch the following clip:

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

If i was with a few friends i would surely try and go to stop them from bashing the elderly ethnic man after calling the police, if i was alone i would think twice but i would go and try and stop him from getting bashed, again after calling th police.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

I would ask her where we are going then, secretly call the police on the way and tell them where we are going and tell them everything, as well as its an emergency. Then with them so the police can locate us.

Journal 6

1.) Define the term “Moral Maturity”

2.) Read the following article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/knife-arrest-cop-pelted/2008/03/24/1206206967590.html

Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of ‘moral maturity’.

3.) Identify the differences between ‘morality’ and ‘immorality’.

4.) Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as ‘immoral’.

The term moral maturity is how mature a person is and how they make moral decisions. The article in the Sydney Morning Herald that a 25 year old man has stated to have a lack of moral maturity does have a lack of moral maturity is because the neighbors in the article could not make the right moral decision and threw things at the police officers. Also because the man who was being chased by the police ran and did not listen to the police officers. The differences between morality and immorality are that morality is a code which you yourself follow, immorality is not following that code you have set. The Governor is regarded as immoral because as a role model and a leader to his city he has not done the right thing and sinned.
