What themes do you need to include in your three minute script from the play your group has chosen to study?
I would think that i should include themes in the play which are different and modernised aswell as include some of the original themes in the play and my shortened script and act. Some themes i would like to include are:
Write up your Representational analysis in your Edublog
At least one paragraph about how these techniques help bring across the message of the book.
Representation
On this page you can see that there is only a small porton of the sky shown and more of the underground is shown with fossils, this represents that the animals or aboriginals have been defeated, and taken over. You can also seen a Rabbit standing in the top left corner and facing away from everything else looking through a telescope. This represents that he is search the land or finding other animals on their land. Underground you can see animals who are chained up, this also shows that have been defeated and have treated unfairly.
STEP 2:
ANALYSE INTERACTIVE MEANINGS
Write up your Interactive analysis in your Edublog
At least one paragraph about how these techniques help bring across the message of the book
Interactive
The modality is high and colours are high in contrast in some page where they are show trying to power and strength, where as the defeated, dull pages are low in modality and there are less bright colours. DPS 9 is a dull page and shows defeat with is low modality and darker colours. The pages has very low illumination which is around the rabbits and not near the animals, there is no illumination underground near the fossils. The background is dull and dark showing loss and defeat.
STEP 3:
ANALYSE COMPOSITIONAL MEANINGS
Write up your Compositional analysis in your Edublog
At least one paragraph about how these techniques help bring across the message of the book
Compositional Meanings
The information gained from this DPS 9 is that the animals (Aboriginals) have been defeated and the rabbits (white man) have won, this also shows that the rabbits taken over the land which originally belonged to the animals (aboriginals). The most salient figure is the Rabbit with the chained up animals which shows the message that the have been mistreated.
The book is portraying the significant events in the Aboriginal history with the white man. The book represents the white man as rabbits as rabbits breed quickly and take over land as the white man were doing. The Aboriginal is portrayed as the animals that are affected by the rabbits eating all their food and taking over their land and shelter.
- What is the message?
The message that this sends through out the book is that the white man mistreated the Aboriginal Australians. It also shows how rabbits take over land.
3. Make a list of some visual techniques that you think help create these meanings.
Colour, participants, setting, symbolism, colour choice, patterns, the composition.
4. Discuss what you think colours represent in this book.
On D.P.S.4 the ship is shown I golden, bright colour which stands out in the dark sky showing power, the rabbits are shown wearing black, red and gold these colours show royalty, power and strength. The other animals in the background in a dark brown which blends in with the sand and dirt showing that they not as important as the rabbits are shown.
Are you staisfied with the groups progress so far?
Who is not pulling their weight?
Yes I am satisfied with the work my group is doing and the rate we are doing it at is fine. At this point in time no one is not pulling their weight and were all doing work.
What significant moment in Indigenous History occurs this week?
How may you use this as supplementary material?
What is your aim for this lesson?
Kevin Rudd apologises to the Indiginous Austrlian people for the stolen generationon behalf of the parliament.
The Definition of suplementary is: “substantial additional work which appends, incorporates, is appended to, or is incorporated into, the original Material”. We can include this as supplementary material by lookiing at exactly how the stolen generation was treated and also using itin our preamble project. This lesson i am going to try and put my information togther in the form of a preamble.
