Forms of music that would connect me with Jesus would be slow calm music genres like reggae, RnB and some types of rock. Art that wouold do the same would be simple works which are based on God or Jesus. Jesus has been portrayed in many ways through out history because of peoples points of views, and many people dont know what He look like so they imagined what would The Son of God look like. Jesus is portrated a Parramatta Marist in the religion lessons at the school, the masses we attend, the mid-dat prayers, and also the atmosphere the school creates. I have not yet created my image of Jesus but i do think that it would be like those from the Renaissanse period.

This is an image that appeals to me because it shows that Jesus was caring, i think that He still is and I that is why I like this image. Factors that shape my image of jesus include His love, His body shape, many images i have seen on the internet and in books and many other things.

I associate my life with images of Jesus when I pray, when I am alone and when i am in religion classes.

2. How is Jesus portrayed in the chosen passages?
3. Discuss your personal response to the messages portrayed by the passages.
4. From the portrayal draw your own image of Jesus in one of the parables.
Matthew 12:9-21
The message in this Bible passage is to not be lazy. Instead of making excuses for doing good deeds you should do them. It also says that’s even though it was Sabbath day, this does not mean that you don’t do good deeds. A modern example would be not doing anything on your day-off. Jesus is portrayed in this Bible passage as the one person who knows what to do. Also He is shown as the chosen one who will save the world. My personal response to this passage was that it told me an important thing, not to be lazy and make excuses.
Matthew 19:18-28
The message in this Bible passage was to follow the Ten Commandments and to follow Jesus. If you follow Jesus you will enter the kingdom of God. A modern example would be going to church daily or weekly. Jesus in the Bible passage is portrayed as the teacher and preacher as He is telling his disciples what to do and what not to do. My personal response to this passage was to love and follow God and his teachings, as i will be rewarded with the acceptance in His Kingdom.
